Tracks should be roughly 1-5 minutes in length.

Adding your voice and vocal sounds IS allowed.

Along with the project files, you get samples, loops, midi files and presets to use on your own productions.

Please NO non-broken instrument sounds, outside synths or other MIDI instruments! This sound pack includes the Ableton Project Files for 7 fully produced, professional tracks that you can break down, analyse and edit yourself.See how the music, effects and mix work together to make a club ready track. It is based on a set of piano samples recorded by Rudi Fiasco.

A panel of Broken Instrument experts (comprised of acclaimed musicians, producers and industry folks) will then select 3 winners to receive cash prizes, software from our friends at Ableton and hardware from innovative ‘new kid on the Block’ ROLI. Now, we are inviting YOU to creatively remix these samples and produce new original works in any style and by any means you wish. For these recording sessions, we invited great musicians from around Philadelphia to improvise on damaged horns, flattened fiddles, splintered double bases, padless saxophones, leaky clarinets, and busted-up snares and created a sample library of hundreds of ‘wounded’ but magnificently unique instruments. that cannot be played because they are broken and there is no available budget to fix them.įound Sound Nation, in collaboration with Temple Contemporary, has meticulously recorded the sounds of over 800 of broken instruments in an effort to inspire the public to ‘adopt’ these instruments and raise funds to repair and return them to public schools throughout Philadelphia. There are over 1,000 musical instruments owned by The School District of Philadelphia.
